Roles/Responsibilities of Advisory Panel Member

The purpose of the Advisory Panel Member is to provide a diversity of perspectives on scholarly and creative endeavors so the organization can more effectively serve the design educators community. Members are invited, and contribute to the organization in different ways. Any input is welcome and necessary for the ongoing evaluation and establishes rigor to the institution.

Each semester Advisory Panel members must do a minimum of one of the following:

  • Attend a Design Incubation colloquium
  • Attend a DI advisory panel meeting (in person, online, via telephone)
  • Spread the word about DI
  • Recruit proposals for Design Incubation colloquium
  • Recruit new attendees and members
  • Peer Review abstract submissions for one or more colloquium
  • Host or find hosts for DI events
  • Contribute to the organization in other ways
  • Allow us to post their names and affiliations on the DI website as Advisory Panel Members
Other Optional Activities / Responsibilities

Design Incubation Advisory Board members are encouraged but not required to participate in the following activities as they are undertaken by the organization:

  • publishing/journal
  • bylaws/constitution/mission
  • scheduling
  • outreach/invitation
  • innovation/sustainability/new initiatives
  • technology/content/communications
  • design awards
  • national conference
